The character in this project is a shaman named Dr. Good. Dr. Good works in her apothecary to shine light on injuries and to open paths to healing. Specifically, she writes down collected names and injuries and includes them (along with poetry, illustrations and other healing items) in Love Note Scrolls that she hangs in the trees along Piper’s Creek in Carkeek Park every afternoon. The scrolls are created as token evidence of intention and holding time and space for the benefit of helping heal one another. They are Valentines, if you will.
To witness Dr. Good at work, please visit the Shunpike Storefronts window at the intersection of John St. & Boren Ave. N in the Amazon “Arizona” building in the South Lake Union neighborhood. To see the scrolls, please visit the Scrolls page on this site or look for them in the trees along Piper’s Creek, in Carkeek Park, Seattle, WA, now through mid-March, 2017.
This project is made possible by the Shunpike Storefronts project.
